There, ancient evils resurface, threatening the world. In the sequel, The Mystery of Emerald Flame, Verity returns to London with the Ministry Seven. But when children vanish in the fog and the emerald flame reappears, they dive headfirst into conspiracies, mysteries, and ancient riddles.

Pip Ballantine Biography

Philippa Jane Ballantine, born in Wellington, New Zealand, studied at Samuel Marsden Collegiate School before earning a BA in English and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Library Studies from The Open Polytechnic. In 2006, she became the first New Zealand author to podcast her novel. Ace Books published her debut fantasy novel, Geist, in 2010, followed by Spectyr, Wrayth, and Harbinger. Collaborating with her husband, Tee Morris, she co-wrote the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series, with Phoenix Rising earning an Airship Award and Goodreads acclaim. Pyr published her Hunter and Fox duology.
