Biography of Anne Rice

Anne Rice is an American author who was born in New Orleans in a Christian family. Though her upbringing was highly influenced by christianistic, she later turned agonist. Anne is graduated as a literature and creative writing student. Her older sister, Alice Borchardt, is also an established author in fantasy and fiction genres.

She started her writing career in 1976 with an erotic and supernatural novel, Interview with the Vampire. This novel was later adapted as a movie and became the base of the famous novel series Vampire Chronicles. Along with the supernatural novel, Anne also wrote novels based on Christianity (Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt and Angel Time) and sadomasochistic novels (Beauty’s Punishment)

While studying at Texas Women’s University, she met her husband, a famous poet Stan Rice and eventually moved to California. She took a variety of jobs like cook, insurance claimer before turning into a full-time novelist. Due to brain cancer, Stan succumbed to death in 2002. She also has two children, one of them being another famous author Christopher Travis Rice.
