Let’s start with The Power of Five (re-named as The Gatekeepers in the U.S.), a series that is a fantasy and suspense novel. It will give you a glimpse of Anthony’s thought process, plot construction, and writing styles.

The Power of Five Series

In this The Power of Five Series, there is a total of five fantasy novels filled with lots of suspense. It can be read as an updated sequel to Horowitz’s Pentagram series. The novels revolve around a supernatural practice where human sacrifice and blood rituals are made for some extraordinary powers. Our protagonist, Matthew Freeman, in the first novel of the series, is a victim of the ritual who is trapped by a cult who wants to sacrifice himself to open a portal. I will be carrying on the discussion of the five novels in this series gradually from Anthony Horowitz’s Books in Order.

1] Raven’s Gate (2005)

The novels begin with our protagonist Matthew Freeman, who is a 14-year-old boy who resides in Ipswich along with his aunt, Gwenda Davis, and her boyfriend, Brian Conran He lives with them because he is an orphan. His parents died in a car accident when he was just eight years old.

Matthew Freeman was accused of certain charges, and then he was sent to L.E.A.F., which includes sending a troubled child into the countryside to a foster parent. There he discovers the reality of his parent’s death and find out Omega one, which is an abandoned nuclear power station.

Susan Ashwood and Fabian are the members of the Nexus who ask Matt to help them out to acquire an old diary that would give them access to stop the second from opening.

Matte’s aunt, Gwenda Davis, has fallen under the temptation of dark forces. She kills Brian, her spouse, and is desperate to kill Matt. She steals a petrol tanker and drives it to Matt’s school to complete her task.

Will she be able to kill Matt? What had happened to her?

Nightrise is the third in the series of ‘The Five GateKeeper.’ The story begins with two male characters, the first is Colton Bane, and the other is Kyle Hovey, who is working for an evil corporation called Nightrise.

They are waiting in Reno, outside of a theatre, to kidnap an identical twin brother named Jamie and Scott Tyler. This twin has the special power of reading anyone’s mind and can telepathy with each other.

Find out how the twins find their way out to Nazca desert and meet Matt and Pedro, the first and the second Gatekeeper.

4] Necropolis (2008)

Necropolis starts with a trip to St Meredith’s Church on which Scarlett Adam’s school tutor group is taken. Scarlett has a vision of Matthew Freeman, who will lead her to the Pentagram door. From there, she is carried to Ukraine, in a monastery, captured by monks who worship the Old Ones.

‘Oblivion’ is the concluding part in ‘The Five Gatekeepers’ series. All four gatekeepers have passed the gate, which took them ten years in time But the last Gatekeeper has yet not arrived.

Jamie Tyler, the main lead in the fifth part of the story, ends up in St. Botolph’s Church in Boston, England, meeting Holly, a villager Scarlett Adams, accompanied by Richard Cole, ends up at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt.

They were attacked by the soldiers of the Old Ones, but they were supported by the rebel military of Nexus and took the hospital. All four gatekeepers are accompanied by someone who finishes the battle between the devil ones and the superior power.

Finally, the Gatekeepers won by defeating the Chaos with a five-pointed star. The story comes to its conclusion.
